A Handmade Christmas.

I love working with my hands. This year I took on two handmade projects, one for each of my little kids. It was fun! I love creating something from nothing, and although I know they won't appreciate these handmade gifts as much as I would like them to , I know that they will love them.

Edith's gift from me is a handmade Waldorf doll. She is made of all cotton and stuffed with warm local organic wool stuffing and made almost completely by hand. I enjoyed making her so much, I am sure I will be making more in the future. I made her two little dresses, and I still need to fix her hair up a bit. She is a sweet little doll and in the end she really did end up reminding me of Edith, which is what I hoped for.

Porter's gift is a car mat; but not just any ordinary car mat, this is Radiator Springs! Oh yeah! I thought I was pretty clever to dream this one up! And I bet you didn't know that Radiator Springs has a Cabela's. I sure hope he gets many hours of play with this creation!

These are beautiful gifts. You did such a nice job. Your kids may not appreciate your many hours of hard work at this point in their lives, but they for SURE will love and adore these gifts in years to come. You are such a good mommy.

These are SO CUTE!!! You need to post a tutorial on how you made them. Did you find them on pinterest? Find a pattern? Make them up? They look AMAZING!

Super cute. Can you share the doll peasant dress pattern?

You did a great job on both those items. Edith's doll is adorable and looks professional. I love it!

So I'm making nothing for my kids this Christmas. They (Holly especially - she's so picky and unpredictable!) does not appreciate them and then never wants to wear/play with whatever I made and then I get hurt feelings... it's a disaster. So I'm on a little break from making them things. Except I made them doll baby bjorns last week which they absolutely do not appreciate and don't play with. Just reenforced my break from making!

I did however, make gifts for Conor's siblings' families, and for my sister-in-law. And I'm working on something handmade for Conor, which he will appreciate, I hope.

I love to make handmade things, especially for people who appreciate them!
